About me

Hi, I'm Jenny Ashby

I write dark country: songs about the things people feel but don't always say out loud. Heartbreak, hard lessons, second chances, and the real stories behind them. I don't sand off the rough edges, because that's where the truth is.

Is it really free?
Yes. Joining is free and gets you this week's first song. You can unlock the rest by inviting friends, or become a member for $5/mo to get everything at once.
How do I unlock more songs?
Share your personal invite link. When a friend joins through it and confirms their email, you unlock another song: one friend for song 2, two friends for song 3. You can find your link on your Invite page.
What do I get as a member?
For $5/mo you get all 3 songs every week straight away, and 3 votes each month instead of 1 vote. There's no contract: you can cancel any time.
How do I cancel?
Any time. Open your Invite page and choose "Manage subscription". It opens a secure billing page where you can cancel, and you won't be charged again.
When and how do the songs arrive?
By email, once a week. Your first song arrives the moment you join, and you can open your songs any time from your personal Invite page. If you don't see an email, check your spam or promotions folder, or enter your email at the top of this page again and we'll send it again.
How does the monthly Spotify vote work?
Each month there's a new ballot of Jenny's songs. Everyone who joins gets 1 vote, members get 3 votes, and you can change your votes until the ballot closes. When it closes, the top 3 songs are added to Jenny's Spotify. Follow the live leaderboard and the countdown to the next release.
What is a Custom Chorus?
You tell Jenny your story (a person, a memory, a moment) and she writes a chorus just for you, for $10. It makes a great gift. See the details and terms on the Custom Chorus page.
Can I buy songs and albums?
Yes. Songs are $2 and albums are $12 in the store. After you pay you get private download links that you can use up to 10 times each.
Can I just leave Jenny a tip?
Yes, and thank you! The Tip Jar takes a one-time tip of any amount you like through Stripe. A tip is a gift to support the music: it isn't a purchase and isn't tax-deductible.

You'll only get occasional emails about new songs and offers, and every email has an unsubscribe link that works straight away. We don't sell your email address. See the Privacy page for the details.

Payments are handled by Stripe, one of the biggest payment companies in the world. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch this site.
